Like a brush of light, the laser enhances the video image with its spatial character and spectral purity. The project advocates a cross-aesthetic approach, both minimal and geometric, data-driven, and organic, complex, nature-related. It integrates new modes of representation and avant-garde interfaces specifically programmed for the project.
hex /A\ is co-produced by Stereolux, Station Mir / Festival ]Interstice[, and Alex Augier Studio, with the support of C3 Le Cube.
Seated concert with closed doors. Do not be late; latecomers will be refused entry.
About Alex Augier:
Musician and multidisciplinary artist, Alex Augier develops a digital aesthetic from a musical and transversal perspective, including sound, visual, and formal materials. These elements interact in the stage space and primarily take the form of audiovisual performances. He considers this art as a specific field of creation where each element is definitively linked in a singular, coherent form and interpreted as a single piece.
The transversality of the projects aims to break away from traditional forms, imagine new ways of performing, create unique spaces specifically adapted to their dissemination, and offer the public a unique experience. Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man remains the guiding thread of this aesthetic research. The universalism of the Renaissance echoes today’s digital multidisciplinarity. Alex Augier thus advocates a global vision of the creative process where design, technology, and programming are integral parts of the artistic project. His “low level” creative approach involves expertise in sound and visual synthesis and programming, the raw material of future works.
Among his performances, oqpo_oooo was nominated for the Les Bains Numériques award in 2016; nybble was presented in the Electro exhibition in 2019 to illustrate new A/V lives (Philharmonie de Paris); end(O) is an immersive work for a geodesic dome; p(O)st, pr(-), and hex(A) develop an original technique of audiovisual spatialization and interface design.
